Aspiration
Aspiration is the ambition or hope of achieving something such as a goal or objective, therefore the customer is directed towards certain goals and their needs can be of security, social, psychological, self-actualising and esteem needs.
Lifestyle
Customers will tend to come from different cultures and sub cultures have different jobs and careers, different levels of social class as well as varying styles of living. Therefore, different customers will have varying opinions, interests and take part in different activities, therefore their customers with different lifestyles will also have different patterns of making purchases.
Income
The income is how much each customer makes and this has an effect on the goods and services the customer buys as customers with different levels of income will also have different levels of purchasing power, a product may be great for a customer but if they cannot afford the product, then the number of sales can be affected. Therefore, segmentation based of the buying capacity of customers can help to achieve better results.
Time
Time can have an influence on customer behaviour, when in a hurry, customers are more likely to select the well-known brand as they don’t have the time to really consider the alternatives. The different seasons and seasonal sales of the year will also affect the customer behaviour, for instance in the winter, customers will tend to purchase warmer clothes.
Status
Status is your professional or social position and different customers or consumers belong to different social groups, organisations, clubs and family roles and have a status to maintain which can either influence or inhibit their behaviour as well as affect their expenditure.
Family
The family of a customer or consumer can also have an influence on the behaviour because the family can either influence them to like or purchase certain brands while dissuading them from non-favourable brands.
